Whether you’re here for a quick coffee, a rainy-day play session, or a birthday to remember — we’re so glad you found us.
We’re a small, family-run space built around big ideas, great coffee, creative play, and a sense of community that feels like home.
So we created a space that blends all the good stuff — great brews, playful energy, and a touch of everyday magic. It’s a spot for families, friends, and anyone who appreciates a warm, welcoming vibe.

Absolutely! Everyone is welcome at Friendly Grounds.
You can find us at 232 Old Brompton Road, SW5. The closest tube station is Earl’s court. We are on the corner of Old Brompton Road and Earl’s court road.
Unfortunately, we do not have customer parking. Public transport is great in our area with bus and tube options.

- Mon–Fri evenings (after 6:30 pm): Free, except for permit-only slots .
- Sat after 1:30 pm: Free .
There are lovely parks (Holland park, Kensington Park), museums (Natural History museum, V&A, Science museum), and shops just a short walk away—perfect for exploring before or after your visit.
We serve specialty coffee from Extract Coffee Roasters, teas and a wide variety of drinks; pastries, Empanadas, and kid-friendly snacks. Check our full menu in-store.
Play Area
We recommend booking to avoid disappointment as spaces are limited, but you can drop in if there’s availability.
Sessions run:

- 13:30–15:00
- 15:30–17:00
Cakes are only allowed for booked party packages. For regular play sessions, we ask you not to bring outside food.
Unfortunately, we can’t extend session times and ALL play sessions are NON-refundable. You’re welcome to join for the remainder of your slot or reschedule at least 5 hours before your time slot. Please give us a call if you can’t make it.
Our play area is designed for children aged 0–6 years.
Socks are required for children and adults. Children must be supervised at all times. Full rules are displayed at the entrance and online. Please read our Terms & Conditions for a full list of rules.

Please book via our email friendlygroundscafe@gmail.com. Packages include exclusive play area access, fully decorated party tables, and food options.
Our party times and lengths are set and cannot be changed unless it’s arranged as a bespoke booking and agreed in advance.
If you need to reschedule your party to a different day, we can do this as long as you give at least 14 days’ notice before your original booking date.
We kindly ask that all guests vacate the space promptly at the end of your party to allow us time to prepare for the next session or our closing schedule.

Yes, you’re welcome to hire an entertainer for your party! We just ask that there’s no messy play, confetti, glitter, or animals in the space.
We know accidents can happen. If any damage occurs during your party, we may need to charge a fee to cover the cost of repairs. We appreciate your care in helping us keep the space lovely for everyone to enjoy.
You are very welcome to bring your own food for the party – whether that’s homemade favourites, platters, or a birthday cake. 🎂
We’ll provide unlimited water (from our filtration system) and Cawston Press kids juices as part of the package, so there’s no need to bring extra drinks for the children.
Hot drinks and snacks for adults are available to purchase from our café during the party.

No—we handle all setup and cleanup so you can relax and enjoy.
Yes, you’re welcome to bring a sensible amount of light drinks like wine, prosecco, or champagne to enjoy with your guests. Just remember to bring your own cups, as we don’t provide these, and please take any bottles home with you afterwards.
